Iceland company, Climeworks announces plans to construct a 2nd carbon removal plant

Climeworks’ technology removes CO2 from the air using what’s called direct air capture

Plant will take 1.5-2 years to build and remove about 36K metric tons of CO2 annually or roughly 7000 typical cars

Company is hoping to have enough plants to remove millions of tons by 2030 and a billion tons by 2050
